Board of Trustees

  • Devika Gill, President

Devika Gill is currently the Director at First Light Early Learning Center in Moorestown. First Light is a faith based preschool, located at the Methodist Church. Prior to living in Moorestown, Devika taught 4th grade at Lawrence Intermediate School, in Lawrenceville New Jersey. Devika and her husband have four daughters, one studying at Drexel, one at Dartmouth and two at MHS. Devika has been an active member of Moorestown’s Home & School Association since her daughters entered the Moorestown school system. Having grown up in Asia, Devika has always been aware of the wide disparity between people within the same community and felt the need to help those who are struggling. This continued through her involvement with the Methodist Church. Continuing that mission of outreach, Devika partnered with a group of local women and MooreKids was founded. Email Devika at

  • Jennifer Brinkman, Vice-President

Jennifer is a stay-at-home mother of three children and has lived in Moorestown with her husband and children for 10 years. Prior to having children, she was an elementary and middle school teacher. Although no longer teaching, children remain her passion; she is actively involved in Moorestown’s Home and School Association and enjoys volunteering in her children’s school. She served on the Board of First Light Early Learning Center, her children’s pre-school, for four years. While her children were there, she taught a Lunch Bunch program called Helping Hands, in which the preschoolers participated in community service projects. Jen became aware of the needs of some of the children in Moorestown when a classmate of one of her children wasn’t adequately clothed and her daughter asked if she could help by giving her some of her outgrown clothing. This discovery led to informal clothing drives, and eventually a more formally organized Clothing Closet, currently housed at the First United Methodist Church. Jen joined efforts with the other founders of MooreKids to organize a food and gift card drive to help the struggling families in our town. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to support the underserved children of Moorestown through MooreKids.  Email Jen at

  • Maura Rafferty, Treasurer

Maura started laying the groundwork for her role in MooreKids many years ago when she got her first call from a friend and staff member at Mary E. Roberts to help a family in need. Every year since that first call Maura and many of her generous and thoughtful friends have helped families at Roberts. It became clear to her there will always be a genuine need to support some less fortunate children right here in Moorestown.  Maura has been married to her husband Michael for 20 years. They have 3 children, Will, a 9th grader at MHS, Maggie an 8th grader at WAMS and Dan a 4th grader at UES. She has a professional background in marketing and is currently taking classes at Rutgers University towards a Masters of Social Work.  Email Maura at

She has been involved in the Moorestown Home & School Association since 2006, and was Chairperson of the Mary E. Roberts Home & School Committee from 2010-2011.
