As parents, we are often looking for ways to teach about giving and helping others. Giving can be a very powerful lesson if children are involved in the process. Here are some ideas for fundraising that children can do on their own or with some help from their parents. We hope that your child will enjoy giving and your family will consider supporting MooreKids. Your child can help another child to have a better life right in Moorestown.
Birthdays and Milestones:
Consider making a donation to MooreKids in honor of your birthday. Consider asking family and friends to donate to MooreKids in honor of your Bar/Bat Mitzvah. If you receive numerous birthday gifts and giftcards, consider donating a giftcard to MooreKids.
Pay it Forward with Change:
do small chores around the house to earn extra money to donate to MooreKids. Raking leaves, shoveling snow, unloading the dishwasher, sorting socks in the clean laundry, walking dogs, cleaning room, vacuuming, sibling homework helper, babysitting, etc.
Set up Shop:
have a neighborhood bake sale or lemonade stand and donate your proceeds to MooreKids.
Every Coin Counts:
collect spare change in your home. Take an old coffee can or juice bottle and make a spare change jar. Every time you find some spare change, or have extra change in your wallet or piggy bank, put some in the coin jar. Every bit adds up! With your parents’ permission, put it on the kitchen table or counter and encourage your family members to contribute.
Ask your parents if you can host a family or neighborhood garage sale and donate the proceeds to MooreKids. Make sure your customers know that proceeds will benefit this special local charity.
